Week 17 Picks

Week 17 Picks

What a disappointed week 16. My apologies for picking such horrible games last week. As we head into the final week of the regular season I hope that I may have helped in making picks. I’m currently first in my office pool and would love nothing more to finishing that way. Over the years I’ve finished second and third but never first so finishing first would cap off the hat trick. Week 17 brings a lot of tricky games because of must win games and no meaning games. In my opinion week 17 is just as hard to pick as week 1.

I’ll be doing the play off picks and hope that people still visit the site during the playoffs and the off-season.

So here they are…. The final picks of the regular season.

Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers
Denver is already in and the Chargers are playing for pride. I expect San Diego to play all out and Denver to rest a bit.
My Pick – Chargers

New York Giants at Oakland Raiders
The Giants need this one to play at home for the first playoff game. They need that bad. The Raiders have been playing horrible.
My Pick – Giants

Detroit Lions at Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh wins and they are in.
My Pick – Steelers

Arizona Cardinals at Indianapolis Colts
If the Colts lose this week they’ll go into the playoffs with a three game losing streak. What a change from a team trying to go undefeated.
My Pick – Colts

Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons
Someone call Mora on his cell phone and tell him to let Vick be Vick. This pocket passing just doesn’t fit him. Panthers win to cap off a horrible season for the Vick’neers.
My Pick - Panthers

New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With a win the Bucs will win the division.
My Pick – Tampa Bay

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns are good at home. I hate even admitting that. Will J. Lewis show up?
My Pick - Browns

Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers
This isn’t going to be Favre’s last game cause he can’t go out with a “L”.
My Pick – Seahawks

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets
Bills have been looking good lately and they’ll continue that against the Jets.
My Pick – Bills

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots
If this game were in Miami I’d probably be picking different but I just think the Patriots want to win to carry that momentum into the playoffs.
My Pick – Patriots

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs
Palmer is banged up and Kansas City has been running over teams. I don’t see them losing at home. Plus the Chiefs have to win to keep the hope alive.
My Pick – Chiefs

Houston Texans at San Francisco 49ers
Blah Blah Blah.. Reggie Bush Bowl.
My Pick – 49ers

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars might have Bryon back and the Titans might be without McNair.
My Pick – Jaguars

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings
The Bears will use this as a builder going into the playoffs. I think they’ll win this one.
My Pick – Bears

Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles
Redskins win and they are in.
My Pick – Redskins

St. Louis Rams at Dallas Cowboys
More than likely this will be a meaningless game for the boys but I still think they’ll win.
My Pick - Cowboys

Week 16 Picks (Finally)

My apologies for the late picks. I ran into some travel problems that included some long delays at the airport. I'm late for a dinner party so these picks will be short and sweet. No commentary.

Winners are:

Bucs
Bengals
Panthers
Lions
Jaguars
Giants
Steelers
Chiefs
Rams
Dolphins
Eagles
Seahawks
Broncos
Bears
Vikings
Patriots

I'll be back mid next week. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Week 15 Results (Week 16 Picks coming soon)

12 again. I probably shouldn't complain because 4 wrong isn't bad at all. However I've been aiming for that perfect week all season.

Colts, Raiders (once again), the Cowgirls and Packers all let me down. Colts.. okay maybe. The Chargers are a good team. The Raiders only scoring 7 points... the girls 7 and Packers 3. I can't believe it.

16-0 for Week 16... I can feel it.

I'll be doing some traveling over the next couple of days but I promise to have the picks up by Friday evening.

Week 15 Picks

Football on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. It's gonna be a good weekend. I wish I could somehow get the NFL to play on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I wouldn't leave the house. There are some tough games this weekend but I gotta feeling I'll break the 12 win curse.

New England Patriots vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
He’s called the best cold weather quarterback ever. If this were in Tampa I’d probably pick them but it is in New England. This is gonna be a touch matchup for both teams
My Pick – Patriots

New York Giants vs Kansas City Chiefs
As much as I want the Chiefs to win I just think the Giants are too much even though manning just hasn’t been playing that well. I think Larry Johnson will have limited success against the Giants and that leaves it up to the receiving core and Green.
My Pick – Giants

Buffalo Bills vs Denver Broncos
Broncos should easily win this. They have a three tier running back system that any NFL team will have problems stopping. Champ Bailey is having his best season yet and the rest of the defense is following suite.
My Pick – Broncos

Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets
Ronnie and Ricky should take turns scoring against the Jets. Chambers should find success as well. Jets looked good last week but not this week.
My Pick – Dolphins

St. Louis Rams vs Philadelphia Eagles
I know the Rams have more offensive threats but for some reason Fitzpatrick just isn’t keeping the team together. Jackson should be all over the place but for some reason the Rams are staying dedicated to the pass with the rookie QB. I think the Eagles defense will help in giving the Eagles a victory.
My Pick – Eagles

Houston Texans vs Arizona Cardinals
It feels funny just thinking about it but the Texans will win this game. They have had some close games and definitely play hard.
My Pick - Texans

Tennessee Titans vs Seattle Seahawks
The Titans run defense has not allowed a 100 yd rusher in a long time. However, D. Jackson is back in the lineup for the hawks and the trio Jackson, Engram and Joe J will prove why they are the best team in the NFC.
My Pick – Seahawks

Indianapolis Colts vs San Diego Chargers
Both teams have an extremely talented offensive core but the Colts’ defense is far superior to the Chargers defense.
My Pick – Colts

New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers
The Saints have proven that by dropping Brooks their season is done. I don’t think it would have mattered because the Panthers are just an overall better team.
My Pick – Panthers

Jacksonville Jaguars vs San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are just a speed bump for the Jags as they head to the playoffs.
My Pick – Jaguars

Minnesota Vikings vs Pittsburgh Steelers
It’s been a great run for Brad Johnson but his winning streak ends against Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh will control the game defensively and offensively.
My Pick – Steelers

Detroit Lions vs Cincinnati Bengals
Palmer, Rudi, Chad, TJ, Henry = win over the Lions
My Pick – Bengals

Oakland Raiders vs Cleveland Browns
Welcome back.. welcome back.. welcome back. Collins is out of time out now and should beat the Browns.
My Pick – Raiders

Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys
Washington took the first game. Dallas will take the second.
My Pick – Cowboys

Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons
The game is in Chicago and will probably be blistering cold outside. The Bears will be bringing everyone in all directions against Vick and I think it’ll be too much for the Falcons.
My Pick – Bears

MNF
Baltimore Ravens vs Green Bay Packers
Three weeks ago I said I’d never pick the Packers again and here I am about to pick them two straight weeks. The Ravens are missing some key defensive figures and Gado should help bring the win home
My Pick - Packers

Week 14 Results

12-4 again. I just can't seem to get over this 12 hump.

What is up with Carolina. First they beat the Falcons who they never beat. I lose that game. Then this week they lose to Tampa Bay who they always beat. Mark down another loss for me.

San Diego loses at home. That should have never happened. They must not want to make the playoffs.

And the Jets win. Must have been a full moon.

My other loss comes with KC. They really should have won that game.

Hopefully I'll do better for week 15. I've lost my lead for first place so I need to get that back.

Week 15 picks should be up by Wednesday night. Don't forget we have some Saturday games.

Week 14 Picks

First let me say my apologies for the late post. Several people have expressed interest in getting the picks out early but between setting up a lab and doing some design work for a customer I have had little time. I had adopted the table for my picks but because I'm on a schedule I'm going to write out the games.

So on with the picks. For some reason this week they all seem like locks but I'll point out a few potential upsets as I go.

Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars
Many analysts feel this is the game where the Colts could possibly go down. I'm not sure if this was before Leftwich went down but I still don't think it matters. There are only a few teams I feel can contend with the Colts and the Jaguars aren't one of them. Let's welcome back Fragile Freddy and he continues his yet another disappoint season.
My Pick - Colts

Oakland Raiders at New York Jets
Both teams won't have a dominant QB so you have to go with what team has the better RB and surround WR core. That means Oakland has Moss, Porter and Jordan and the Jets have..........
My Pick - Raiders

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers
Foster is exactly what the Panthers needed and he arrived at the perfect time. Davis was producing so it was allowing their opponent to double team Smith. That meant no production from the Carolina offense. This should be a good game showcasing the Caddy versus Foster and Simms vs Delhomme.
My Pick - Panthers

Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers
This is a must win for the Steelers as they watch their playoff hopes fade into the horizon. I expect a low scoring defensive game where the Steelers will dominate the time of possession.
My Pick - Steelers

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals
Palmer, Johnson and Johnson with Housh and Henry. This is the team that will give the Colts a run for their money. So with that said do you really think the Browns have a chance?
My Pick - Bengals

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans
I'm picking the Titans but this is one of those games that could be an upset. The Titans are a better team but the Texans might forget they are playing for Reggie Bush and just might show up. If that happens I expect a good game from Andre Johnson and D. Davis.
My Pick - Titans

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are improving on defense but the Patriots need to keep winning to keep their playoff hopes alive. Dillon is back so I expect a heavy dose of him while the Patriots look to control the tempo of the game.
My Pick - Patriots

St. Louis Rams at Minnesota Vikings
This is another one of those games that could go either way. The Vikings are hot and Brad Johnson is 3-0 against the Rams and is undefeated this season. The Rams clearly have more weapons but for some reason they all can't get on the same page. What a waste. The Vikings are at home so that is my choice.
My Pick - Vikings

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
McNabb is gone. T. Owens is gone. Westbrook is now gone. If you look at the Eagles' roster it seems as if their starting lineup is all on the IR. If the Eagles win it'll be because they score while on defense because they obviously can't score on offense.
My Pick - Giants

Washington Redskins at Arizona Cardinals
The Redskins need a huge game from Portis and Moss because if not, Warner will throw all over them.
My Pick - Redskins

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks
This is like a boxing match between a heavy weight and a light light weight. Seattle fans will probably get to enjoy a second shut out.
My Pick - Seahawks

Miami Dolphins at San Diego Chargers
This is a must win for both teams but this win is more important to the Chargers. They have to keep up with the Steelers. But does anyone think the Dolphins have the personnel to stop LT2, Gates and Brees?
My Pick - Chargers

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos
The Ravens are horrific on the road and mile high is one tough place to play. I think we'll see the same from the Broncos as we have all year. 185 yards passing from Plummer with a TD to Smith and 100+ yards rushing from the RBBC crew.
My Pick - Broncos

Kansas City Chiefs at Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are on the way down and the Chiefs are on the way up. This is another game where both teams are in a must win situation. The weeks are getting shorter so the wins are becoming pretty valuable. I think the second half of the season mvp (Larry Johnson) will dominate this game and lead the Chiefs to a victory.
My Pick - Chiefs

Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers
Last week I told myself, and everyone else, that I would never pick the Packers again. Well this is the last week.. I'm picking the Packers because they couldn't possibly lose to the lions... Could they?
My Pick - Packers

MNF
New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons

Vick and the Falcons have something to prove to the rest of the NFL and that is they know what winning still means.
My Pick - Falcons

Week 13 Results

12-4 is definitely not 15-1. I learned two things this weekend. I'm going to pick the Packers to win again this season and the Bears definitely have some holes they need to fill.

If anyone watched the Bears game Brett Favre lost that game. The Packers should have won that game. Everytime the Packers got close Favre would do something stupid. I'm not going to defend Favre anymore. It's time to retire.

I can't believe Carolina just manhandled Vick and did the Cowboys even go to New York?

Those three games got me.

Stay tuned for Wk 14 Picks............

Week 13 Picks - Wk 13

Just going over this weeks games I must say this is as hard as the picks get. Lots of must wins and lots of unproven M.I.A teams playing against each other. How do you pick against that? It is going to be hard to match last weeks success but hopefully I can keep the wins coming. I have a two game lead with 122 wins so far this season in my office pool so I need to stay on top.

Week 13 Picks

Away

Home

My Pick

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

New Orleans Saints

Bucs

If Tampa Bay shows up and plays their defense the Bucs should win easily

Cincinnati Bengals

Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers

This is a must win for the Steelers and they are at home following a loss. Steelers win hands down.

Tennessee Titans

Indianapolis Colts

Colts

The only team that will beat the Colts this year are the Colts. It's bound to happen and with 5 weeks left who's going to knock off the undefeated Colts? I have this funny feeling it is going to be this week but I gotta go with the better team.

Atlanta Falcons

Carolina Panthers

Falcons

With the Falcons winning 4 of their last 5 at Carolina and the Panthers offense slowing down I feel Vick and Co. will pull out the win.

Houston Texans

Baltimore Ravens

Ravens

Who has a quarter? Flip it: Ravens = heads and Texans = tails. That's how I feel about both teams. But with J. Lewis producing last week and Ravens at home I have go with Baltimore.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Cleveland Browns

Jags

Which team is actually going to show up? This is another tough pick because both teams are really suspect right now. I think it will be the defense that wins this game and the Jags have the better defense

Dallas Cowboys

New York Giants

Cowboys

I think Eli loses his first home game this week.

Minnesota Vikings

Detroit Lions

Vikings

Brad Johnson for MVP. Wait, I won't go that far but I will say he should pull the victory out once again.

Green Bay Packers

Chicago Bears

Packers

I'm nervous writing this up as I'm actually going to pick the Packers. Favre usually plays very well against the Bears in Chicago and when you least it expect Favre will throw for 300+ yards. He probably won't do that against this defense but the Green Bay Offense should be in fifth gear leaving behind the rookie Bears QB.

Buffalo Bills

Miami Dolphins

Dolphins

Ricky Williams runs for a 100yds. That'll be the high light of this boring game

Arizona Cardinals

San Francisco 49ers

Cardinals

Kurt "the hurt" Warner. Sounds funny doesn't it. But he's getting it done lately so I gotta ride the hot streak.

Washington Redskins

St. Louis Rams

Redskins

Fitzpatrick did look good for the Rams but can he do it against the skins? I doubt it and this is also a must win for the skins.

New York Jets

New England Patriots

Patriots

Patriots haven't lost two straight this season plus they are playing against the Jets.

Denver Broncos

Kansas City Chiefs

Chiefs

Chiefs at arrowhead are very hard to beat plus they owe the Broncos some payback. I think Larry Johnson has yet another spectacular game.

Oakland Raiders

San Diego Chargers

Chargers

Another team in a must win situation. The Chargers should win.

Monday Night Football

Seattle Seahawks

Philadelphia Eagles

Seahawks

Both teams have good defenses but Seattle has been shaky the last several weeks. I think the Eagles will be tough to beat at home but they just don't have the offensive superpower that the hawks have.

Week 12 Results

15-1! What a week. Several games just happened to slide my way except for Oakland. I thought for sure the raiders were a definite lock.

To the one who e-mailed to request picks by noon on Friday.. I won't be able to get them up by that time this week. I have a pretty hectic schedule this week including helping a friend move to D.C. But I'll try to have them up late Friday night.

Next week I should probably be able to get them up early.

Week 12 Picks

Week 12 Picks

Away

Home

My Pick

Atlanta Falcons

Detroit Lions

Falcons

The Falcons are in desperate need of a win. The Lions play their superbowl Thursday but I think Vick will be too much for the Lions.

Denver Broncos

Dallas Cowboys

Denver

Both teams are extremely hot right now but I think Denver has the better overall team.

Baltimore Ravens

Cincinnati Bengals

Bengals

The Chad Johnson show will continue......

Carolina Panthers

Buffalo Bills

Panthers

The Panthers need to prove something and this should be the game they do.

New England Patriots

Kansas City Chiefs

Chiefs

The Patriots finally won two straight but they go into Kansas City to try for three. Brady is good but I just don't think they have enough to stop K.C.

St. Louis Rams

Houston Texans

Rams

Last week I embarrassed myself putting Jackson on a pedestal. However, the Rams are a better team.

Chicago Bears

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bears

Earlier on in the week I told myself I wasn't gonna pick the Bears but I can't deny it to myself anymore. The Bears are GOOD. I think this defense is gonna pick apart the rookie QB Simms.

Cleveland Browns

Minnesota Vikings

Vikings

Yes, the Browns looked like a new team but the Vikings are hot right now. Vikings continue their playoff bound season.

San Diego Chargers

Washington Redskins

Chargers

San Diego brings the cool Cali "Brees" to DC and will bring back a win. LT gets 3 touchdowns this game.

San Francisco 49ers

Tennessee Titans

Titans

Home field gets the nod. Boring game.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Arizona Cardinals

Jaguars

After the Cardinals impressive victory over the Rams how can someone pick against them? Warner is hot, well if you call two games hot but it ends this week.

Miami Dolphins

Oakland Raiders

Raiders

You heard it on ESPN. The Dolphins are building for the future. Raiders win.

Green Bay Packers

Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles

It sure does hurt to go against Favre but he doesn't get it done against the Eagles.

New York Giants

Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks

Seattle is playing their best ball ever. Their offense is going crazy. The Giants will not be able to contend. Eli has another multi-INT game..

New Orleans Saints

New York Jets

Saints

Why is this even a Sunday night game?

Monday Night Football

Pittsburgh Steelers

Indianapolis Colts

Colts

This is a very hard pick. If you go back and look at the games between these two teams the Steelers have been the victor in the last six. With that said I really want to pick the Steelers but with the Colts at home and Big Ben back from an injury I think the Colts take this one.

Saturday, November 19, 2005

Week 11 Picks

Week 11 Picks

Away

Home

My Pick

Oakland Raiders

Washington Redskins

Redskins

With Washington being undefeated at home and with the Raiders offense M.I.A I have to go with the skins

Detroit Lions

Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys

Detroit looked very good last week but that was against the Cardinals. I think the Cowboys will shut them down

Miami Dolphins

Cleveland Browns

Browns

Miami is to turnovers as the Colts are to wins.

Arizona Cardinals

St. Louis Rams

Rams

Two words: Steven Jackson

Pittsburgh Steelers

Baltimore Ravens

Steelers

Maddox needs to play like he did two years ago. But I still think the Steelers defense will win this game.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Tennessee Titans

Titans

Even though the Titans are the underdogs they have beaten the Jags something like six straight games. Gotta roll with statistics

Philadelphia Eagles

New York Giants

Giants

I really wanted to pick the Eagles but without McNabb or T.O. I don't think they have enough to compete with the G-men

New Orleans Saints

New England Patriots

Patriots

An injured Patriots team is still better than a healthy Saints team.

Carolina Panthers

Chicago Bears

Panthers

The Bears have definitely impressed me this year but without a potent offense they can't compete with the Panthers

Tampa Bay Bucs

Atlanta Falcons

Falcons

Everyone knows the Bucs have Vicks' number but I think Vick will get the Victory this time

Seattle Seahawks

San Francisco 49ers

Seahawks

I'm, at this point, accepting donations for the 49ers losing fund

Indianapolis Colts

Cincinnati Bengals

Colts

Two years ago the Bengals ended the winning streak of the Chiefs. Can they do it again this year to the Colts? Nope

Buffalo Bills

San Diego Chargers

Chargers

I think this will be a high scoring game with the Chargers being the victor

New York Jets

Denver Broncos

Broncos

Broncos at home who are playing very stingy on defense. The average points scored on the road by the Jets is horrible.

Kansas City Chiefs

Houston Texans

Chiefs

The Chiefs "should" roll right over the Texans but they "should" have done that to the Bills last week.

Monday Night Football

Minnesota Vikings

Green Bay Packers

Packers

Favre on a Monday Night at Home. Gotta go with the Pack.

Wednesday, November 16, 2005

Week 10 results

Eli Eli Eli... you disappoint me man. And KC only scores 3 points? I can't even go on..

Just thinking about Washington losing to Simms and TB and Philly losing the game in the last 3 minutes gets me frustrated.

Week 11 the NFL is back to 16 games so we'll see how the picks go.

Week 10 Picks - Wk 10

Minnesota Vikings at New York Giants
The Giants are 4-0 at home. The Vikings have some injuries in their secondary. Even though Brad Johnson will probably spark the offense I don’t think it’s enough to top the Giants.
My Pick – Giants

San Francisco 49ers at Chicago Bears
Simply put, the Bears defense will pick apart the 49ers offense.
My Pick – Da Bears

Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions
Yes we all know the Lions offense is M.I.A and the Cardinals offense is nothing to boast about. Arizona’s defense is underrated and will play hard against the Lions but the key factor is Arizona’s road record this year. 0-3
My Pick – Lions

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins
The Patriots haven’t lost or won two straight meaning they have alternated wins and losses. They lost last week so they’ll win this week.
My Pick – Patriots

Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Ravens haven’t reached the 20 or more points plateau this season. So with that said the Ravens defense could ultimately win this game it’ll be the offense that losses it for them.
My Pick – Jaguars

Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills
The Bills rank 31st in rushing defense which means Larry Johnson, who’s running with a purpose, will single handedly beat the Bills.
My Pick – Chiefs

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts
I don’t think there needs to be commenting on this game. I’ll just get straight to it.
My Pick – Colts

Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders
Touch game to pick here so we’ll just go with the facts. The Broncos are coming off a bye which they are 12-4 doing so. The defense will need to stop Lamont Jordan and I think they will.
My Pick – Broncos

New York Jets at Carolina Panthers
Carolina is at home with a hot defense and offense. Everything is coming together for the Panthers.
My Pick – Panthers

St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks
Seattle is extremely tough at home. This season they are 4-0. Bulger however always plays well against the hawks. Because this match up is in Seattle I have to go with the home team.
My Pick – Seahawks

Washington Redskins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I don’t think Simms has enough to out the Redskins at home and I think the Washington’s D will stop the Dynamic Duo of Brown and Williams.
My Pick – Redskins

Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons
It’s so hard to bet against Favre but the Falcons are just too good at home.
My Pick – Falcons

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are just a better team than the Browns, both offensively and defensively. Batch will start but I don’t think it matters.
My Pick – Steelers

MNF
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles are 3-0 this season at home and have a six game winning streak at home against the boys. The Eagles have something to prove which is that they can win without Owens.
My Pick – Eagles

Week 9 Results - 11 and 3

11 and 3 for week 9. Not too bad.

I probably should have picked the Colts but I truly felt the Patriots were going to step it up.

The other two I missed could have gone either way.

Cleveland always gets me in the end.

Chicago and New Orleans... no comment.

Week 9 Picks

San Diego Chargers @ New York Jets
How can someone pick against the Chargers and their potent offense? The only way the Jets win against the Chargers is if the Chargers beat themselves. I don’t see it happening.
My Pick – Chargers

Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Delhomme is hot but so is the Buc’s defense. They are rated one of the best against the rush. But with Simms at the wheel for Tampa I don’t think they can keep up with the Panthers.
My Pick – Carolina

Tennessee Titans @ Cleveland Browns
Trent Dilfer and Antonio Bryant have an opportunity to prove they have some offense left in them. They will be playing against a week Titan’s secondary. But the Titans can explode on offense and I don’t think the Browns can match TD for TD against the Titans.
My Pick – Titans

Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Well the Texans got there only win of the season last week so the Jaguars are a safe bet. The only way the Texans can win is if the football gods decide to skip the Browns game and show up at this one.
My Pick – Jaguars

Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs
When these two teams play it’s always an offensive game. The Chiefs won in Oakland earlier in the year and I think they’ll win at home on Sunday. The Chiefs will also be without Priest Holmes because of an injury sustained during last week’s game but Larry Johnson will prove his worth. Rumor is Green won’t play Sunday because he’s mourning over his father’s death. I’m sticking with my Chief pick but that would change if Green does not play.
My Pick – Chiefs

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens
Ravens will be missing both defensive threats in Reed and Lewis. This is a key factor because they will be playing against Palmer and Chad Johnson. Who does C.J. get to check off this week?
My Pick – Bengals

Atlanta Falcons @ Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have really impressed me this year but not enough for me to choose them when playing the Falcons. Vick and Co. will get it done in Miami.
My Pick – Falcons

Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings
Call me crazy but I truly feel Brad Johnson will bring some life to this football team. They’ll win this Sunday and they’ll win big.
My Pick – Vikings

Chicago Bears @ New Orleans Saints
Just when you start thinking the Saints are horrible they win a game you think they can’t. That is the pattern of the Saints for years. So because of that logic I’m going against the odds here and picking the Saints.
My Pick – Saints

New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers
49ers beat the Bucs but do you honestly think they can beat the Giants?
My Pick – Giants

Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals
If the Cardinals offense was at good as their defense I’d probably go with Arizona but with Kurt “the hurt” Warner back I doubt they’ll score more than 14 points. Seattle will definitely score more than that.
My Pick – Seahawks

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Green Bay Packers
It hurts me to pick against the Steelers but I have absolutely no confidence in them without Big Ben in the game. Favre has a tough match up against the awesome Pittsburgh defense but I think the packers will pull out a victory in what will be a low scoring game.
My Pick – Packers
Edit: Sunday 12:07am 16 hours to kickoff
I normally don't change my picks but I've had all day for my choice to marinate in my thoughts. The Pittsburgh defense is more potent than the Packer offense. Even with Batch in the game I still think the the defense will pull out this victory for them.
My Pick - Steelers

Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Redskins
This and the Monday night game is definitely one of the harder ones to pick. All the controversy around Terrell Owens and his comments make me think to pick the Redskins but for some reason that controversy and attention seems to fuel the Eagles. Because the Eagles have abandoned the running game and both T.O. and McNabb are hurt I’m going to pick the Redskins. It’s a home game on prime time for them and they’ll have to bounce back after that embarrassing lost to the Giants last week.
My Pick – Redskins
Edit: Sunday 12:11am - TO suspended. I feel much better about my Redskins picks now.

MNF
Indianapolis Colts @ New England Patriots
The Colts have lost seven straight in Foxboro and many say this is the year the Colts break that. I agree but I don’t think it’ll be this week. I think it’ll be in the playoffs. I’m going with the odds and say the Colts will be 0-8 against the Pats after Monday night.
My pick – Patriots

Week 8 Results

I'm on a football picking high as you can see from my wk 7 and wk 8 picks. This week I was shocked to see Tampa Bay lose so that really should have been a W for me. However I don't know what I was thinking picking against Denver at home against Philly. I truly deserved that loss.

All in all not a bad week. I'm still in search of that perfect week.

-thefootballmaniac

Week 8 Picks

Arizona at Dallas
The Cardinals and McCown look will look for the win after serving their bye but the Cowboys will look to rebound after a very disappointing lost last week. Look for Marion Barber to have a good game and another 100yd receiving game from Fitz. However I think the Cowboys will blow this one away in front of their home crowd
My Pick - Cowboys

Chicago at Detroit
Detriot looked horrible against the Browns last week as did the Bears against Baltimore. This has all the ingredients to be a boring game. A rookie QB and a has been QB with talent that doesn't know how to be used. Most of the time you'd give the home team the nod but I think the Bears will win.
My Pick - Bears

Cleveland at Houston
Well I guess if we are going to have some horrible games we might as well put them all in on one Sunday. Cleveland might as well be winless and well.. The Texans are. I think Houston's offense is better and they are home.
My Pick - Texans

Green Bay at Bengals
Cincinnati had it rought against the Steelers last week but they'll have the red carpet against the Packers. Green Bay as a team might as well be on the IR. Favre will be 1-6 for the first time in his career after this week.
My Pick - Bengals

Jacksonville at St Louis
The Rams have a chance to go into the bye week with a 500 record but first they have to stop the Jaguars. The elite WRs of the Rams might make an appearance but Bulger will still be out. Jacksonville is tough but I think the rams will pull out a must needed win.
My Pick - Rams

Miami at New Orleans
You mean.. Miami at Baton Rouge the old home of the Dolphin's rookie coach. Coach Saban has had proven success in Baton Rouge but it was under LSU and not the pro team Dolphins. Same game different atmosphere. Gus's numbers have slowly declined while definitely not meeting expectations. The Duece is out for the season for the Saints and Joe Horn has a nagging hammy. I think we'll see Ricky Williams of the old this week giving the Dolphins a road victory.
My Pick - Miami

Minnesota at Carolina
Can the Vikings win two in a row? Can Daunte have another decent week? Is Carolina as good as they appear? Lots of questions I feel will be answered this week but I'll go ahead and answer on of them for you. Yes.. The Panthers are as good as they appear.
My Pick - Carolina

Oakland at Tennessee
When these two teams meet it normally means an offensive all you can eat buffett. Titan fans would probably actually like to see Volek at the wheel because he's posted VERY good numbers against Oaktown. But the Titans will have to stop Lamont Jordan and then stop Randy Moss. I just don't see that happening. The Raiders will win in a high scoring affair.
My Pick - Raiders

Washington at Giants
This is a game I'd rather not pick. I'm still not convinced fully of either team. The Giants shouldn't have won last week and Washington can only beat weaker teams. I think the Giants will be playing an emotional game via the death of Wellingon Mara. Giants will win.
My Pick - Giants

K.C. at San Diego
Look out Chiefs. Tomlinson has a lot of running to do since he wasn't able to do it last week. This is actually the game of the week for me. We've got probably the two best running backs of the NFL (Holmes and LaDanian) and the two best tight ends (Gates and Gonzalez). The way I figure… you'll see two rushing touchdowns by each back and one receiving touchdown for each tight end. This will be a high scoring game.
My Pick - Chargers

Philadelphia at Denver
Denver had an embarrasing lost to the Giants after being up 17-0. The Eagles offense has been MIA. Has anyone seen T.O.? I think he'll make an apperance at Mile High.
My Pick - Eagles

Tampa Bay at San Francisco
The Cadilac is fresh with dice in the mirror. Without having the stats in front of me I think the 49ers are almost last in the league against the rush. Buckle your belts cause Williams will rush for 200+ yds.
My Pick - Tampa Bay

Buffalo at New England
Brady is having one of his best seaons so far but it's just not showing in the teams record. Their defense gets a spiritual lift with the return of Teddy but it's really not needed as the Patriots will win convincly against the Bills.
My Pick - Patriots

MNF
Baltimore at Pittsburgh

It ain't gonna be right to be Wright this week. Big Ben and the Stealers will roll over the Ravens in an easy win.
My pick - Pittsburgh

12-2 - Not bad for week 7

I just wanted to make a midweek appearance to note this as my best week for the 05 season. Next week I plan to make it 14-0. Stay tuned for my week 8 picks...................

Wish Me Luck

Week 7 Picks

Week 6 .. 11-14. Not bad. Some of those losing should have won *cough*Pittsburgh*cough

But all in all.. not a bad week.

This week should be better. I've got it this week. 14 for 14. I'm calling it.

Friday Night Game between the Chiefs and Dolphins will kickoff in 15 minutes so I'm making these picks quick.

Chiefs at Dolphins
Tough game to call because of the emerging Dolphins but Priest and Co. are hard to beat. Green light is Chiefs

GB at Vikings
Favre plays horrible in domes and the vikings are horrible this year. Who wants this game more? Favre. Who will lose this game. GB. Vikings at home

Saints at Rams
Stephen Jackson will run all over the Saints. No brainer. Go with Rams

SD at Philly
We already know SD will score at least a rushing TD via L.T. so can Philly stop everything after that? Statisticly Philly is horrible after a bye but I'm still going with the Eagles.

Colts at Houston
Houston 0-5 Colts 5-0
Ummm... Colts?

Pittsburgh at Bengals
Big Ben nor Palmer has thrown an INT in their last 4 starts. Both defenses have been playing like superbowl champs. Normally the home team would get the advantage because of that but I'm still going with Pittsburgh.

Detroit at Cleveland
The Dog Pound has been a home for cats lately. Cleveland in the first half of last weeks game had around 85 total yds on offense. The Lions will come in possibly with Garcia and give the Browns another loss at home. Woah are the Browns.. Woah are the Browns. Detroit wins.

San Fran at Washington
Here you go this should make the Redskins fans happy to see this. I'm picking Washington. I think they are for real this year especially if the play the 49ers every game til the end of the season.

Dallas at Seattle
Seattle is going to the Superbowl. That's right.. you've heard it here first. Seattle will win easily of the boys.

Baltimore at Chicago
Heads = Baltimore Chicago = Tails Now flip coin. It landed on heads.

Denver at NYG
Woah.. it's good to see Plummer come out of his shell. Just in time for the G-men. Broncos will win and hopefully put Eli back down on this place we all walk on.. Earth.

Buffalo at Oak
Would you pick Oakland without Randy Moss who's team is playing a new 2-0 QB. I would. Raiders need a win and they'll get it.

Tenn at Arizona
I never thought I'd pick the Cardinals over the Titans but McCown will throw the ball all day long. I see a high scoring game with Arizona coming out on top.

MNF
NYJ at ATL
Vick is back. Vinny is playing. This should be good. ***crickets***crickets***
Easy win for the Falcons.

Week 6 Picks

Week 6 Picks

Maybe I should have thought about making my picks public. I can't seem to break the 50% margin now. I have decided to erase week 5 out of memory. This week will be the breakout for public appearance.

Falcons at Saints
Duece is gone for the N.O. so that means the Smith will try to have to break the wall of the Falcons D. It doesn't matter if Vick starts or not. Falcons will win this one easily.

Browns at Ravens
Ravens got embarrassed last week and the Browns beat a weak Chicago. I don't think either will happen again so go with the Ravens.

Vikings at Bears
Marco... Polo... Marco... Polo... Marco... Polo... Simon says go with the Vikings.

Dolphins at Bucs
Both playing at a higher level than last year improving on both offense on defense. I think this is one of the harder picks of the week. Bucs get the nod at home.

Panthers at Lions
In the Jungle the Lions are the kings but not in the NFL. Lions got an lucky victory last week but they'll earn the loss this week. Panthers by a couple of touchdowns.

Jaguars at Steelers
Big Ben or Maddox? Who will start this week? I don't think it matters as the Bus and Fast Willie run over and through the Jags while carrying the V on their shoulders. Steelers.

Bengals at Titans
The Titans secondary can't stay together like ice cream can't survive in the sun. Add that to Carson's 11 touchdowns on the season and you get a win for the Bengals.

Giants at Cowboys
Yes the Giants have been playing very good but so have the Boys of Dallas. Homefield advantage will play a role in this series. So this game go with Dallas at home.

Redskins at Chiefs
I'm still not fully sold on the Skins new and improved play. Plus the go into the hardest stadium to play at: Arrowhead!! Praying to the Priest won't help this time skins fans. Chiefs will win this one big.

Pats at Broncos
Yes I admit that I'm a Denver fan but I'm still shocked they are 4-1. Who is winning these games for them? It sure isn't Plummer. Bailey is still hurt which means the two rookies will be starting again for the Denver secondary. That means the long ball will be in effect for Brady. I'm going with the Pats.

Jets at Bills
Not much to say about this game. Can Vinny be the Hero? Can Holcomb get it done? A lot of unanswered questions. Stay safe with the Bills.

Chargers at Raiders
Does anyone out there really think the Raiders can stop the highpowered offense that the Chargers bring to the table? LT will get his record 18th straight game with a rushing touchdown and the Chargers will win.

Texans at Seahawks
Seahawks lose their 1 and 2 WR but it didnt stop them. Joe J came out like a terror. Texans have no chance. They'll be winless in Seattle.

MNF
Rams at Colts
Colts D is averaging less than 6 points allowed for opposing teams. The Rams have one of the highest powered offenses of the game. Something has to give and I think it will be the Colts D. However the Rams won't be able to win in Indy. Colts remain undefeated.

Week 5 Picks

Going into week 4 I thought for sure I had all winning picks. But after watching Seattle blow it with a missed field goal and the Chiefs blowing a HUGE lead I knew I was in for a long Sunday. But I did manage to pull of 9 out of 14 wins but I expected to do much better.

Week 5 compared to week 4 doesn't seem any easier.

Ravens at Lions
Both of these offenses look suspect so I'm going with the better defense squad. I'm going with the Ravens.

Tampa Bay at Jets
Vinny.. Vinny.. Vinny.. From the couch at home to the field in N.Y. Welcome back to the NFL and a 0-1 start. Tampa Bay remains undefeated.

Dolphins at Bills
Buffalo is ranked 2nd to last in total offense and 5th from the bottom on defense. Goodbye "Lost"man hello Holcomb. Hey Holcomb you wanna ask Vinny to save you a seat on the 0-1 couch? Dolphins.

Titans at Texans
Here is my upset of the day in the game feating the bottom of the barrels in the AFC South. Go Houston.

Bears at Browns
Cleveland is 1-2 and at the bottom of their division. Chicago is 1-2 and at the top of their division. Talk about a bizzaro world. You wanna know a bizzaro world.. I'm actually going to pick the Browns.

Patriots at Falcons
Week 4 Daunte gets sacked 9 times by the Atlanta D. Week 5 Brady gets sacked ___ times by the Atlanta D. Anyone wanna guess? Patriots lose 2 straight for the first time in years. Falcons at home.

Saints at Packers
Congrats Favre the losing streek is over. If you can't beat the Saints it's time to find another team. Packers.

Seahawks at Rams
Two of Seattle's best WRs will probably not play in St Louis. That makes Alexander a target. Rams at home.

Colts at 49ers
Who's going to stop the best team in the NFL. It won't be the 49ers. Alex Smith gets his first NFL start this week. Against the Colts!!! Colts = 5-0

Redskins at Broncos
It's time for the fairy tale to end and what a better place for it to stop... IN DENVER!! A very good D vs a not so good O. Easy pick. Broncos.

Panthers at Cardinals
Hey McCown this isn't Mexico City and this isn't the 49ers. Welcome back to reality. Panthers.

Eagles at Cowboys
T-O and D-Nab are both hurt and Akers can't kick. But somehow they play like nothing is wrong. The Ws continue for the Eagles in Week 5.

Bengals at Jaguars
Bengals 4-1 is still pretty impressive. Bengals 5-0?? Somebody wake me up because I'm dreaming. Jacksonville gets the nod.

MNF
Steelers at San Diego
The Chargers are definitely hot but right now Pittsburgh is the team to beat. The bus and Staley will probably get introduced back into the offense this week so I expect a high scoring game with Pitt getting the win.

Week 4 Picks

Well here it is... my first ever public picks. Best of luck to everyone out in the football world.

Detroit at Tampa Bay
How can you go against a team that is hot, undefeated and drives a "Cadillac". The Lions Offense is in the den right now so I'm going with Tampa Bay.

Colts at Titans
This will be the game Peyton and company actually shows up. Good thing the Colts D improved during the off-season or they would 0-3. I'm going with the Colts on the road.

Bills at Saints
Wow... here is a good game. Saints play at home in San Antonio and just might find another "emotional" win. Deuce gets Loose so I'm going with the Saints.

Rams at Giants
Where is Stephen Jackson and Bulger been hiding? If they can quit playing hide and seek they might find a win in NY. Eli appears to be playing well but I still think he is overrated. Rams.

Seahawks at Redskins
Washington just might be worst 2-0 team and the Seahawks can't play on the road. The Skins D could stop a truck but S. Alexander is a train. Factor in Hasselbeck and the WRs the answer equals win for Seattle in DC.

Chargers at Patriots
So LT is a beast and the Brees is cool in Sunny San Diego. But we aren't in Californ-i-a.. We are in Boston for a tea party with the Pats. New England always finds a way to win so until they prove they can lose I'm going with the Pats.

Broncos at Jacksonville
Plummer appeared to be plummeting until that impressive win last week. I believe they'll carry this victory into Jacksonville and take it back to Denver with them. The Jags are impressive but the Shannahans will win. My pick = Broncos.

POTENTIAL UPSET
Texans at Bengals
Yes Carlson Palmer so far is proving he is the real deal. Chad Johnson has been backing up his talk and the Bengals D has been taking out the trash. But the Texans offense will look like a new team this week because of the newly acquired offensive coordinator. A 0-3 team like Houston will play for nothing to lose. Too many mistakes by the Bengals and the lossless streak will be over. However I don't see them making many mistakes so I'm going with Cincy at home.

Jets at Ravens
Here is game that is featuring the battle of the non-starting QBs. Which one is better? A. Wright of the Ravens of course. I'm sticking with the home team again: Ravens.

Philadelphia at Chiefs
The Chiefs got embarrassed last week and will be playing with something to prove. D-Nab is hurt regardless of what he says. Can he have another 300+ yard game while playing hurt? I think not. Home team gets the nod again. Chiefs.

Vikings at Falcons
Falcons need to keep up with the Bucs at the Bay. Atlanta has Vick and they are home. Dante is good but not good enough to keep Atlanta from winning.

Cowboys at Raiders
0-3 = Raiders but not after week 4. Raiders and the crazy Moss will win their first game of the 05 season this week. Raiders.

49ers at Arizona
Well not really. The NFL will be playing its first regular season game outside the US this week. The host: Mexico. Warner is hurt not like this is a factor but he is the best Arizona has. Probably just as talented in WRs as Detroit the Cards will lose in Mexico to the 49ers and Rattay.

Monday Night Football
Packers at Carolina
Sorry Cheese Fans Favre will go 0-4 this week. Carolina with the win at Del"homme"
